We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included, The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. A telephone conversation with the manager. What has this told us about the service? This home provides care to one resident with a learning disability, the resident has lived at the home for around 23 years. The home is the managers family home and the resident is seen as a member of the family. The manager was contacted by telephone and told us about how the resident is and any changes that have taken place. The manager has been unwell this year so this has meant that they have not spent any time in Spain, which the resident enjoys, but the resident and manager have had lots of trips to the managers caravan. The residents continues to take part in the activities he enjoys, these include going for walks, meeting his friend in the nearby town, completing puzzles, playing games etc. The resident continues to make choices and decisions about his lifestyle. At the last inspection no requirements or recommendations were made. We looked at all the information received and our judgment is that the home is still providing a good service. The person living in the home always tell us that they are happy there. The resident is particularly pleased with the lifestyle he experiences at the home. The home continues to provide good outcomes for the person using it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 02/09/2010 However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
