Annual Service Review Page 2 of 5 Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This could include: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It should also give us some numerical information (DataSet) about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organizations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The service has maintained the standard of provision of care and support that was evidenced at the last key inspection, which was undertaken 6th May 2008. The last inspection found that there is careful consideration before anyone is admitted to the home to ensure that the service will meet their needs and that people would benefit from living in the home. Detailed and person centered plans were in place and the home has reported that these have all now been completed, as well as Health Action Plans being put into place. People who use the service have their health needs met through liaison with health care professionals and receive good personal care and support. The home provides an environment carefully designed for the needs of people with Dementia. People are protected through robust staff recruitment and training in preventing abuse. Staff receive a wide range of training suited to their role. Staff have now received further training in dementia and also Adult Protection. The requirements and recommendations in relation to medication have been implemented by the home. An activities coordinator has been appointed and is in post. The policy on abuse has been updated, as recommended in the report. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review?
