Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing the same level of service. However there was limited information within the sections and this needs to change, the service must demonstrate that they can self assess to a good standard and are able to demonstrate that they continue to develop. They gave details of improvements made since the last inspection, including; A menu update although what the update included was not specified. In response to listening to the people that live at the home the labelling of clothes had also improved. Management also state that they are using a new format for the ongoing assessment of peoples needs. One of the areas the service state they aim to improve upon in the next 12 months is maintain and improve on our excellent G.P Services. The information contained within their self assessment must improve in standard, this statement does not demonstrate how they are to do this or by when for example. The home keeps us informed of incidents and accidents through the regulation 37 notification process, and update us on outcomes as they occur. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We received no concerns in this reviewing period. We were informed of one safeguarding issues in this reviewing period. This was managed in accordance with the protocols in safeguarding adults. Management acted promptly and correctly to safeguard the person living at the home. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by November 2010. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. The rating for this service was made on 1st November 2007.
