It is a purpose built home with a chapel that is accessible to all the Sisters, regardless of their level of ability. The needs of the Sisters who live there are well catered for. All the bedrooms have en suite facilities and the communal space available is very well
Annual Service Review Page 2 of 6 1 8 1 1 2 0 0 8 appointed. There is a separate section where the Community Sisters live. The home has spacious grounds and is near to Hillingdon Hospital. There are local amenities nearby. The home has a peaceful and happy atmosphere. The home organises a variety of entertainments following discussion with the Sisters. Television and music facilities are also available. The fees range from £575 - £750 per week, dependent on the Sisters level of care needs. What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. We received surveys from 7 residents. People are very happy with the care being provided at the home, their needs are all being met and they know who to speak to should they have any concerns. We received surveys from 6 staff. It is clear that the staff enjoy working at the home and receive a good level of training to provide them with the knowledge and skills to care for the residents effectively. The staff also feel well supported by the manager, who they find approachable and available to discuss any matters. We received surveys from 5 social and health care professionals, who all commented on the high standard of care being provided at the home. Also, that the staff ensure that residents social and health needs are properly monitored, reviewed and met. Comments received included: provide nursing care of an exemplary standard, which wound be difficult to better. Residents are always clean, well presented and their needs are extremely well attended to. The home is run to a very high standard. It is a pleasure to work there. creates a friendly atmosphere and appears to deliver a professionally managed, hygienic service. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 I am very happy at the home and am made to feel very welcome by the Sisters and staff. The home is clean and tidy. Staff and management are very helpful. Meals are good and nutritious. The home is very clean, and the staff are very helpful, all my needs are met. excellent patient care, keeping up good standards. Marian house provides a safe and comfortable home that allows the residents to make their own choices in their life. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 16th November 2011.
