Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 7 What we found: We visited to assess the homes compliance with the immediate requirement we gave them at the previous inspection, to provide sufficient and appropriate hoist slings. There has been an assessment of all peoples moving and handling needs by the companys moving and handling trainer. The assessment was to review moving and handling equipment that is available and peoples needs for moving and handling equipment to ascertain what equipment is required. The service now has additional slings available. The availability of additional slings enable slings to be washed when they become soiled whilst also having other suitable equipment to move people safely. The service now has an additional extra large sling for the standaid hoist, two small slings, five medium slings, two large slings and an extra large sling for the full body lifting hoist.
