Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: - The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. - Surveys returned to us by people with an interest in the service. - Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. - What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. - The previous key inspection. - Relevant information from other organisations. - What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. We received comments from 3 relatives of people living in the home. All continue to be very satisfied with the quality of the care. One relative commented the overall standard ..is so good.. and encourage my relative with their hobby. Another relative said on every occasion that I have been able to visit my relative they have been clean and immaculately dressed and obviously been well cared for. The staff seem to have a friendly relationship with them, understanding and attending to needs in a exceptional manner. The home is clean and comfortable and a good atmosphere exists between staff/residents and visitors. I wish that everyone who needs care could be as well cared for. The third relative commented provides very good personal care and food. Also aims to give individuals a good quality of life, and there are some excellent staff in the team. This relative had concerns that they were not always being kept informed but confirmed that they thought this has now been addressed. We received comments from three social and health care professionals. They told us the service always provide good quality care and support especially around personal care, and always very welcoming. The service users appear to be happy and well looked after. One professional commented that some decisions could be made earlier with the multi disciplinary team rather than the home doing things by themselves. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 24th June 2010. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
