It is a large detached property, which is located off the main road in Selsey village. The local shops, amenities, and the sea front are within walking distance of the home. Accommodation is provided in thirty single and one double bedroom located over two floors. There is a passenger lift between the floors. All bedrooms, except for one, have en suite facilities and in addition, assisted bathing facilities are also provided. There is a sitting room and two dining rooms. Selsey Care Company Ltd owns the home and the responsible individual is Laura Bow. The fees charged are £550- £800. There is a new manager in place who has as yet to complete the registeration process with the Commission. What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Surveys sent to us by staff who work for the home. What has this told us about the service? The AQAA told us that people who use the service are admitted after a comprehensive pre admission assessment and that care needs are reviewed monthly. A statement of purpose is in place is in place to give people information on the home. It told us that quality assurance audits are in place and that they get positive feedback from people who use the service and relatives. The AQAA also told us that there is improved care planning and review and that there is a keyworker system in place. There has been an ongoing refurbishment programme. The home has been redecorated, there is a new kitchen and some new furniture has been purchased. WAIT FOR SURVEYS What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspectionplan and will do a Key Inspection before 10/02/12.
