What the care home does well

Flixton Manor offers care to a maximum of 32 service users. The home provides a good standard of care. The home is also very clean and the staff work hard to make sure there are no unpleasant smells in the home. Housekeeping staff are employed just to clean the home and this works very well. Relatives and visitors are included in many of the activities of the home. Flixton Manor has three large communal areas so service users have a choice as to where they spend their time during the day.

What has improved since the last inspection?

The owners have been working towards improving the quality of the furnishings and carpets within the home. They have introduced an ongoing programme of renewal & replacement. There was evidence in some of the unoccupied rooms of this having started

What the care home could do better:

The programme of renewal and replacement needs to be part of a detailed action plan and completed within a specified time frame. One of the Housekeeping staff commented on the lack of vacuum cleaners. Stating that there was only one for the whole building.
