CQC found this care home to be providing an Excellent service.

The inspector made no statutory requirements on the home as a result of this inspection and there were no outstanding actions from the previous inspection report.

If yes, what have they been: Date of last key inspection: Date of last annual service review (if applicable): Brief description of the service Stitchell House is a home for thirty-five older people. It is purpose built with all bedrooms having en-suite accommodation. The home has specially equipped bathrooms and showers to support people whose mobility may be limited. The rooms for communal use include the sitting room, dining room and multi purpose room. There are several seating areas throughout the home. The home is on three floors with lift and stair access to all floors. The home has beautiful views over farm lands and woods. Fees at the home are #427 per week. Fees do not include hairdressing, chiropody or dry cleaning Annual Service Review Page 2 of 4 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? Date of the last Key Inspection 9th May 2007. Date of the last Annual Service Review 4th June 2008. We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included: The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Fifteen service users, one health professional and nine staff returned surveys. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints or concerns. What the service has told us about things that have happened. The previous key inspection. Relevant information from other organizations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgment is that the care home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. People who returned surveys have told us that they are happy with how care is delivered. One service users commented i have no complaints, i am completely satisfied, another person stated all the care staff talk to me and that is nice. Comments contained in the survey returned by a health professional included staff appear approachable and client focused. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 8th May 2010. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
