It has 65 private rooms with ensuite facilities. Separate baths and showers are provided for people who need assistance. Lounges, an activities room, dining rooms and separate bistro are accessible to all residents. The care home is on the ground floor of the main building with access to the first floor via stairs or lifts. The environment provides an excellent standard of accommodation. There is a pleasant garden which residents can use. Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 7 What we found: Two inspectors visited the home to check compliance with the requirements made at the key inspection in July. We looked at two care plans for people who live at the home. One had been reproduced using a previous template and the dates did not correspond with the admission of the person which caused some confusion. On discussion with the wellness nurse she explained what had happened. The senior manager had highlighted this during her visit to the home but it had not as yet been rectified. The plans themselves were brief but concise. One evaluation explained some inappropriate dietary choices but this was not reflected in the care plan so that staff would know. The second care plan was very detailed and had been evaluated and up dated as needed. The management of medications was looked at with reference to audits completed by the acting manager. An action plan was now in place so that any errors found can be quickly rectified. All staff have completed training in medicine management. The duty rotas were looked at for the last two months and this showed that the staffing numbers had been increased so that the home was sure the home could meet the needs of the people living there.
