Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the agency is still providing a good service and that they know what improvements they need to make. In their AQAA the home told us We do the following to ensure that race, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, age, religion and belief are promoted and incorporated into what we do: Robinia has an equal opportunity mission statement and this is followed by all staff and no form of discrimination is tolerated within the company. There is an equal opportunities and anti-discrimination policy in place which all staff are aware off. We aim to meet legislation by ensuring equality and diversity is encouraged under all legislation such as the Human rights act 1998, race relations act, sex discrimination act, disability discrimination act 1995 and employment laws. We have policies in place that have the service users interests at heart. Our principles based on Robinia values are privacy, dignity, independence, choice, respect, rights and fulfilment. Staff have completed equality and diversity training. In their AQAA the home also informed us since the last inspection the following changes and improvements have been implemented: The staff team have become stronger, which has a positive impact on the Service Users life. Staff have recognised personal points in their development that have needed further improvement and have overcome ways to improve in these areas. The home has shown that they have managed issues well. No complaints have been received by CSCI the previous regulator and CQC since the last inspection. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for people who use the service. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 23rd July 2010. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
