Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received since the last annual service review of 26/11/08. This included: - The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. - Surveys returned to us by people who live at 17 Quay Haven and staff. - Information we have about how well the home has managed any complaints. - What the service has told us about things that have happened in the home. These are called notifications and are a legal requirement. - The previous key inspection and annual service review. - Relevant information from other organisations. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing an excellent service and they know what further improvements they need to make. We received completed surveys from three people who live at 17 Quay Haven. All three said staff always treat them well. All three also said they always or usually make decisions about what they do each day and staff always or usually listen to them and act on what they say. We received completed surveys from five staff. All five said they always receive up to date information about the needs of people they support and they are always given training that is relevant to their role, helps them understand and meet peoples individual needs, keeps them up to date with new ways of working and gives them enough knowledge about health care and medication. Comments from staff included that the home has a consistent approach to helping each resident achieve the life they want and that people are treated with respect and dignity What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since the last annual service review and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown that the service continues to provide excellent outcomes for the people who use it. We are not going to change our inspection plan and will do a key inspection by 28/11/2010. However, we can inspect the home at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people living there.
