What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment AQAA that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits and telephone calls that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. What has this told us about the service? The manager sent us their annual quality assurance assessment AQAA when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they seek the opinions of the service users in order to develop and further improve the service. The manager told us: We have introduced a poetry morning in response to a request from a resident. We were told that the majority of staff have completed infection control training. We were told that the majority of staff 18 out of 29 have completed National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) in Care level 2. We have not received any information about the agency from other sources. We have not received any complaints about the agency from any source other than the issues discussed below. The manager stated that there has been two adult protection issues looked at since the previous inspection. We were told about these and were satisfied that the issues had been dealt with in accordance with Oldham Metropolitan Borough Council safeguarding adults protocol. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 14th July 2010 Annual Service Review Page 4 of 5 Reader Information
