What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included the annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Five completed surveys were returned to us by people using the service. Other information used in this review includes what the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. Any relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. The previous inspection report and the results of any other visits that we may have made to the service in the last twelve months would also be taken into account. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was well written and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at all the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service. It was clear that the manager knows what other things they want to do to improve the outcomes for the people living there. We received comment cards from five people living in the home. All five continue to be happy with the care provided. Comments included, The home involve my father throughout the day because they know him as an individual, and I am very glad to be part of this home and I am very well treated by all the staff. Another person wrote, They look after my needs and treat me well. Four people stated that the staff are Alwaysavailable when you need them and one person said, Usually. People were generally happy with the care and attention they received from the staff. Since the last inspection the Care Quality Commission has not received complaints or been involved in any adult protection investigations in respect of this service. The manager told us in the AQAA that adopting the Gold Standard framework has made a huge improvement in the end of life care provided at Broughton House. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they manage issues well. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? The Care Quality Commission will continue to monitor information about this service and will carry out an inspection when required. We can inspect the service at anytime if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 5 Reader Information
