What did we do for this annual service review? We have used the Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA.) The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) that was returned to us by the service. We sent out surveys to people using the service, staff and external professionals. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection report. What has this told us about the service? We received the AQAA as requested and this provided with information about the service. We sent out a number of survey forms to the residents and the staff and other care professionals. We have received six responses from the people that we surveyed as part of this review. Information form the AQAA states that as part of promoting equality and diversity and the home is run by a Christian charity but no expectation of faith is placed on anyone and they are open to people of all faiths or none. Each prospective resident is judged totally on their individual holistic needs and whether these can be met by the home. The AQAA tells us that as part of listening to people the home has introduced changes such as menu choices and timing of breakfasts for some of the service users. The home employs a physiotherapist that provides opportunity for taking people out walking and to the shops. The surveys that we have received indicated that people are satisfied with the care that they are receiving. Some of the comments were that usually receive the support when they need and that they were aware of how to raise any concerns. People we surveyed tell us that the home makes their relative feel wanted and well cared for. Another comment was that fresh food is cooked everyday. They tell us that the home has been and continues to look after a number of their patients and they are well cared for. Information we have shows that the home has a pre admission process and people are assessed prior to care being provided. The service is looking at how information about the service can be best delivered to new people. The AQAA tells us that there is an ongoing programme of redecoration of bedrooms as they become vacant and communal areas. On what they could do better includes providing more en suite facilities to meet the market expectation. We receive notifications from the service as required that keep us informed of any adverse incidents that may be detrimental to welfare of people. The service has Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 informed us that they currently do not have a registered manager and an application will be submitted for the current manager to register with the Commission as required. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan and this will be based on information that we receive and hold about the agency. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. Annual Service Review Page 5 of 6 Reader Information
