What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information we have received or asked for since the last key inspection. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. 4 surveys were returned to us by people using the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have occurred since the last key inspection. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. As well as the above we completed a risk assessment of the service to ensure we had enough information about the service to determine the quality rating has not changed in the past 12 months What has this told us about the service? The provided us with their Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and provided us with all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgment is that the agency is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. The manager told us that the people who live in the service are regularly consulted using surveys to obtain their views of the service they receive. Resident meetings are held regularly in small groups or on a one to one basis if needed. The AQAA informs us that many improvements have been made in areas such as activities, environment, training and quality assurance. The home is now accredited with Investors in people. The surveys received gave indication that people are generally happy with the service they receive at the home. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? It is our Statutory responsibility to inspect all care services at least once every 3 years The completion of the Risk assessment and Annual service review has not changed our view of the quality rating of this service therefore we are not planning to inspect this service before 27th January 2011.
