The last key inspection of Tate House took place on 18 September 2007, on this inspection the quality rating for the service was 3 star, excellent. This is a report about the findings of a random inspection which took place on 28 April 2010 between 11:45 and 13:20. For this inspection we used the following evidence: Information received about the home since the last inspection from other organisations, or any concerns we have been told about, and how they have been addressed. Previous reviews completed by the commission. Completed surveys returned by two people living at the home and from eight staff who work there. The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA). This is a self assessment, completed by the manager, which gives us information about how they think outcomes are being met for people who live at Tate House. We checked with the registered manager that requirements made at the last key inspection had been met. During the random inspection time was spent talking with the manager and with three people living there. We also spoke with three staff to gain their opinion about the home and services being provided. Everyone spoken positively about the services and the management team. We asked three people who lived at Tate House, and some staff who work there, if they felt able to raise concerns and knew how to make a complaint. All the staff spoken with and the three people living there said they could raise issues and knew how to make a complaint. They all felt issues raised would be dealt with. We inspected the complaints folder, detailed evidence was available about previous complaints that had been made. Investigation notes were present and the outcome of the complaint was documented. This helps to make sure that complaints are looked into thoroughly and resolved. We case tracked two people whos care needs had changed recently. Their care plans had been changed to reflect their current care needs. During the random inspection people were seen to be treated with dignity and respect. What the care home does well:
