The fees for this home range from GBP997.72 to GBP1,015.19. Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 7 What we found: We undertook a random focused unnanounced inspection in the form of a site visit to the home. The focus of this visit was to establish what actions had been taken in respect of the last key inspection report, requirements, and recommendations. The main requirement was that the home ensures its staff are trained and made aware of the policies and procedures around the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. The site visit took in a tour of the building where we were introduced to all the residents and staff on duty. I was accompanied on the tour by the deputy manager. The building is being maintained to a good standard. Bedrooms were personalised to a high standard and the home has a warm friendly and homely atmosphere. The garden could be used more for the residents to be involved in planting and generally relaxing in. At present it does not present a environment where one would want to stay for long. The manager subsequently informed me that plans are in place to utilise the garden more for the residents to be more involved. We support this proposal. The manager joined the inspection as she had come from another meeting. We appreciate her desire to be involved regardless of her other commitments. Two care plans were looked at and evidenced that residents are fully involved in the construction of their care plans. They are presented in an easy read format and use visual aids appropriately. The home are continuing to make improvements to their methods of communication. Evidence was found that residents have a good range of social and educational activities and residents are well liked in the local community. Training records evidenced that staff have all been trained in safeguarding and undertake regular training in both core subjects and those allied to the residents they are caring for. The manager is in discussion with her senior manager about their future compliance with The Health and Social Care Act 2008 and is confident that the home will declare full compliance.
