What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The service sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. The AQAA recorded that the service wishes to develop a more person centred approach to care planning and to ensure care plans are reviewed every six months. This is so people who use the service can be offered the support they need to achieve their identified goals. People who use the service are offered a wide range of activities and recent additions have included horse riding, music therapy, arts and crafts and massage. Photographs are used to help people who use the service make an informed choice about what they do. The service has demonstrated it is able to work with other agencies to manage safeguarding issues effectively to minimise the risk to people who use the service. We did not send any survey forms to the people living in the service, but it was evident at the last inspection that they liked living at Titchfield Lodge. The AQAA recorded that no complaints had been received by the service. The complaints procedure is available to everyone in a number of formats to make sure people who use the service have the information they need to make complaints. One survey was received from a member of staff. This person felt the service offered good training and support which enabled staff to meet the needs of people who use the service. They felt the service offers the service users activities, but thought these could be improved by offering more activities at weekends. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown that they have managed issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 23rd October 2010.. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. The last key inspection was completed on 23rd October 2007 and the service had an annual service review on 9th October 2008. Annual Service Review Page 5 of 6 Reader Information
