It is privately owned by The Regard Partnership. In October 2008 the fee levels started at approximately £1000 per week but vary depending on the individual needs of each person. The home is a three-storey midterraced house located in the residential area of Mutley. The home is within walking distance of Mutley Plain shopping precinct and the centre of Plymouth. It is also close to bus and rail links. All the homes bedrooms are single and on the 1st floor. On the ground floor there is a lounge, dining room and kitchen. The home has a small courtyard at the back of the property. The home is unsuitable for people with significant mobility difficulties as there are lots of stairs including a few steps down into the kitchen. There is no dedicated parking for the home and, although on street parking is available nearby, most of it requires a permit to park there. Information about the home, including inspection reports, can be obtained from the Manager. Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection that took place on 3rd October 2008. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. We received two surveys from people living in the home, both of whom had completed them with assistance from a staff member. People living in the home tell us that they receive the care and support they need. They say that the staff listen to them and always treat them well. They say they are supported to take part in various activities of their choice and know who to speak to if they are unhappy. The last key inspection showed that people liked living in the home and felt safe there. We have not received written notification that the Registered Manager is no longer managing this home which shows that we are not being kept informed about things that have happened since our last key inspection. The organisation that owns the home, The Regard Partnership, usually works well with us. However on this occasion they have not been keeping us properly informed of changes and this needs to be addressed. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We are not going to change our inspection plan and will do a key inspection by 3rd October 2011. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
