We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection, which was carried out on 24 February 2009. Other information we looked at included; The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. Relevant information that we may have received from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. Information we received from surveys that were sent out to service users, staff, health care professionals and other stakeholders. What has this told us about the service? 6 service users returned surveys and they all answered positively to the questions we asked. Comments from service users included; I enjoy the in house activities and I like being with staff and the other people who live with me, I like to go out on outings and I like everything. 5 members of staff returned our surveys and again these were all positive about the care and support that users of the service receive. Comments from staff included; we promote independence for all our service users, all people at the home get on well together, we support people to make choices and do what they like to do and the home provides good training for staff. We also received 1 survey from a social and health care professional who told us that the home is meeting clients needs very well. The last key inspection and the AQAA shows that the home has policies and procedures available for residents regarding complaints and the AQAA told us that the home has not received any complaints in the last 12 months. The home has told us that in the last 12 months they have made improvements to the environment which have benefited service users and Care Plans are more person centred. The home has also identified areas where they could do better and told us that they Annual Service Review Page 3 of 5 will continue to improve communication and look for new training opportunities. They intend to follow guidance from other professionals involved so they can improve our service. From the information available to us our judgement is that Woodville is still providing a Good service and the home continues to provide positive outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan and we will do a key inspection by 24 February 2011. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
