Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included The annual quality assuranceassessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. What has this told us about the service? The AQAA told us that people who use the service are admitted after a full preadmission assessment and that care needs are reviewed monthly. Information is available to people wishing to use the service and respite and trial stays are available. It told us that quality assurance measures are in place, questionnaires are sent to people who use the service and their families. The AQAA told us that routine maintenance has continued in the home and following has been achieved; changed carpet in some areas, a new boiler was purchased, a new carpet cleaner and shampooer has been purchased, cleaning has been maintained, and the garden has been maintained. We received nine surveys from people who use the service, four from staff and one from a professional. All expressed great satisfaction with all aspects. All of the people using the service stated they were always satisfied with the food, all but one person said they knew how to make a complaint and one person commented I dont ever need to. Other comments received were In my opinion the home is excellent in every way, It provides good food and carers, Each resident is treated as individuals with different needs, The home gives the people big support in helping us to live a happy life and The home is a clean and enjoyable place, I have access to the services I need, I attend the activities lounge frequently and the meals are very tasty. The surveys from staff were all very positive about the experience in working in the home and in the care they give the people living there. Some of the comments we received from staff were Our manager is very keen and very interested in keeping staff up to date, We are a well experienced and skilled staff giving good quality of care to people who use the service,The home is a very welcoming place, staff are supportive of each other and encourage people who use the service to be independant and Our philosophy, facilities, care and nursing all give the people using our service a better way of life.
