This was a Random inspection. As the service has an excellent rating the inspection was to monitor the performance of the service and to ensure it was still providing excellent outcomes for service users. The inspection began at 9am and the site visit lasted until 10.45am. The plan of training provided for staff was also taken from the home and used as evidence for this inspection. As part of the inspection the inspector examined the pre admission documents, daily care plans and risk assessments for the two residents currently placed in the home. The inspector also looked at incidents of notice in the home and the policy which was created following a recommendation from the last inspection. This policy was the Safer Working Practises Policy. The inspector had a guided tour of the building and the garden and spent time talking with two project workers. Two service users were placed on the day of the inspection, both were out during the site visit. Since the last inspection the management arrangements remain the same, the Registered Manager has been in place for a number of years, the staff group remain stable and there is a low turn over of staff. Since the last inspection the organisation has recruited to the team leader role, this effectively forms an additional line of management between the project workers and the Registered Manager of the service.
