Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included. The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment, referred to as the AQAA, that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the agency. It also gives us some numerical information about the home. The Inspection Record. This is a document where we record any activity or information that we receive about the service. What the service has told us about things that have happened at the home. These are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection report. Comment cards from people who work at the home to allow them to tell us what it is like working at Beechdale. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their Annual Quality Assurance Assessment. It was clear and gave us all the information requested. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service for the people living at Beechdale. The AQAA told us what improvements had been made since our last visit to this service and what improvements are planned for the next twelve months. We received comment cards from five people who work at the home and their comments are included within this Annual Service Review. We sent comment cards to two people living at Beechdale on short term placements but none were returned so their views cannot be included in this report. All five staff members who sent us comment cards provided positive responses to the questions we asked. All five tell us that they are always given up to date information about the needs of the people in their care and that their induction covered everything they needed to know very well to do the job when they started working at the home. All five also said that they are given training which is relevant to their role, which helps them understand and meet the individual needs of people and which keeps them up to date with new ways of working. Staff who sent us comment cards tell us that they know what they need to do if someone has concerns about the home and that there are always enough staff on duty to meet the individual needs of the people living at the home. When asked what the home does well comments from staff included, we provide an outstanding quality of care and we support individuals with every aspect of day to day living, care, meeting needs, respecting rights, activities and plenty of home cooked food and we welcome everybody well. We treat people as individuals. It is a very happy and friendly atmosphere. We meet everybodys needs by providing the best quality of care. We help people to be involved in the community e.g. swimming, Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 bowling, cinema etc. When asked what the home could do better one staff member wrote on the comment card, to have a bigger vehicle and when asked if there was anything else people would like to tell us, one staff member commented, Beechdale provides great care and gives individuals the ability to go out in to the community to enjoy day to day activities. Everyone gets involved and Beechdale is a great place to work. We have not received any complaints about this service since our last key inspection. The service continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown us that issues have been managed well. The providers work well with us and they have demonstrated that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people living at Beechdale. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? The Care quality Commission will continue to monitor information about this service and will carry out an inspection when required.
