Also seen was documentation to show that weekly random testing of the hot water outlets is taking place and monthly testing of all outlets take place. This is currently being carried out by a newly appointed maintenance manager. The maintenance manager has attended a Health and Safety course and is due to attend an advanced Health and Safety course which will qualify him to deliver training to other staff in the home. He is currently working under the supervision and guidance of a qualified plumber who has also trained the Registered Manager in testing the hot water outlets. The bathroom initially indentified as being a risk to service users is currently being renovated. The bath has been removed and the room will be a toilet with hand wash basin for the use of service users.
