What the care home does well
Lampton House offers a very thoughtful approach to residential care. The home is very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and homely throughout. The Manager has an open and friendly management style. It was evident that Mrs Morgan has a good professional relationship with her staff, service users and their visitors. Feedback on the quality of care at the home received praise from one G.P. and positive questionnaire responses from two others surveyed for this inspection. Care planning was person centred and the care holistic. Service users were very satisfied with the care they receive at the home from all the staff. The service users said that they are `happy` and `contented`. The standard of housekeeping was excellent and maintenance was up to date. This is a responsible and professionally run residential care home.
What has improved since the last inspection?
This was the first inspection of Lampton House by B Ludlow. The requirements made at the last inspection had been met although the hoist was delivered to another care home in the company group. The attention to quality assurance was not fully explored at this inspection; the previous requirement has therefore been carried forward. Re-decoration and refurbishment has been carried out, some is in progress. The environment was very pleasant.
What the care home could do better:
The hoist purchased as a result of the last inspection was not commissioned for use at this home. This must be remedied. The staff records that are not computer held should be stored with restricted access, in line with Data Protection. All skin creams must be labelled on opening so that the discard by date is known. Medication administration records drugs received must be signed.
