Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 7 What we found: The random inspection was carried out after anonymous concerns were raised about the decor and maintenance of the home. The manager and responsible individual was present throughout the site visit and they described the ongoing repair and development of the home. They said the new extension building works and new furnishings and fittings had been ongoing for some time and was now drawing to a close. This had resulted in some disruption and temporary arrangements for the lounge and dining areas. On the day of the site visit these arrangements were changing as the new carpets had been fitted and the new large conservatory lounge areas were ready for use. The manager and Responsible Individual said that they had attempted to keep everyone informed of the disruption and any delays. Letters were seen that advised relatives of the changes and apologies for any disruption to the smooth running of the home. Workmen staff and the managers were observed working together to change the lounge and dining room arrangements so that people could enjoy the new areas of the home.
