This random inspection was taken in response to the failure of the service to submit an Annual Quality Assurance Assessment earlier this year. The inspection was unannounced and focused on requirements generated from the last key inspection. The visit included a tour of the premises as well as the examination of records relating to the support of those who use the service. In addition to this interviews were held with three individuals who use the service as well as interviews with two staff members and the Acting Manager of the service. What the care home does well: What they could do better:
The service must ensure that staff are aware of and have access to a whistle blowing procedure that is detailed and includes the role of the Commission for Social Care Inspection in the reporting of any concerns they have. The service must review the use of close circuit television cameras overlooking the dining area and front lounge. The service must use the induction procedure for all new recruitments to the service. The new Owners must apply to the Commission for Social Care Inspection to register as the Registered Providers of the service.
