We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included: The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for the people that use the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service and from other people who have contact with the service such as relatives and health professionals. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people may have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The homes AQAA told us about how they have responded to individual needs i.e. individual light setting that enhances the quality of light needed by one service user one service user unable to access the normal activity club accessed by others, due to their level of dementia, so has a separate arrangement put in place to access an activity club with a relative who they respond too well. Individual arrangements are made for Sunday church attendance and visiting clergy is arranged on a monthly basis for those that choose to attend. The home told us that they have service users meeting but no information was provided about how this has led to improvements or changes in the service provided to individuals living in the home. They stated evidence to show we do well are documented by Service users meetings, menu planning meeting. The home told us service user involvement is very important to us to ensure personal choice.
