CSCI found this care home to be providing an Excellent service.

The inspector made no statutory requirements on the home as a result of this inspection and there were no outstanding actions from the previous inspection report.

What the care home does well

Good recording of peoples` needs means that staff are clear about how individuals are supported. Complaints records showed that the home`s procedures are followed when investigations are carried out. Staff training in safeguarding is regularly updated.

It is situated in a very pleasant part of Berwick overlooking the river and with walking distance of local shops and amenities and near to the end of the old bridge connection this part of the town to the main shopping area of Berwick. The home is registered as a care home to accommodate fifty-five persons including seventeen places for those with dementia and thirty-eight Care Homes for Older People Page 2 of 7 for older persons. The home charges fees of between #409.40 and #568.92 per week depending upon the needs and requirements of the individual residents. As the home provides nursing care the free nursing care element of the funding is provided and is included in these costs. The home provides information about the service through the service user guide. A copy of the last inspection report from The Commission for Social Care Inspection is available in the entrance to the home. Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 7 What we found: Inidviduals needs are assessed and appropriate plans drawn up to ensure that staff are clear about the support required. Individual plans are updated regularly. Tweedmouth House has appropriate systems in place for dealing with complaints and safeguarding matters. Good records were available to show how they have dealt with individual complaints and achieved satisfactory outcomes for people using the service. Staff training in safeguarding is organised.
