What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all of the information that we have received or asked for since the last key inspection. This included: The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the home. The AQAA is a self-assessment tool that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people who use the service. it also provides us with some numerical and statistical information about the service. Comments made to us by people who are resident in the home and other people with an interest in the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any concerns or complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the home. These are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home completed the AQAA in very good detail giving us all of the information that we asked for. Having looked at the information contained in the AQAA it is our judgement that the home continues to provide an excellent service for the people who use it and they are aware of any further improvements that they need to make. The home has continued to enable service users to make the most of community resources including one person who is now working at local farm, re-establishing links from the past. The service plans to further develop training opportunities for the staff team and keeps care planning processes and other key documentation under consistent review. The AQAA states that a new contract format has been developed to aid understanding for the service users and representatives. The AQAA provided details of improvements made over the past 12 months and identifies further developments for the coming year. People living in the home have consistently told us that they are happy living there and that the receive good quality support. Positive comments have been received about the staff working in the home, the food and the general impressions of the service. One person stated, We all get on very well and the food is good. Another person living in the home stated, Ive lived here for a few years, it is the best home ive been in. Someone else stated, Its like a big family. The staff are great. I couldnt ask for more. Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 No complaints have been raised in connection with the service over the past 12 months and no safeguarding vulnerable adults alerts have been raised in this time. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since our last key inspection and they have shown us that they manage issues well. they work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide excellent outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan and will do a key inspection by 9th January 2012. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. Annual Service Review Page 5 of 6 Reader Information
