Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received or asked for since we did our last annual service review. This included: The annual quality assurance assessment, we call this the aqaa that was sent to us by the service. The aqaa is a self-assessment document used to look in detail at how well outcomes are being met for residents. It also gives us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us. What other people have told us about the service. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service these are called Regulation 37 notifications and are a legal requirement. The outcomes from the last key inspection. What has this told us about the service? When we did the last key inspection we found the following outcomes when we looked at what the home does well, we have quoted from the last report for this annual service review: We found that residents needs are being well met by the staff who support and care for them. Staff are very kind and caring and are really receptive to the needs of the residents and how best to support them. Residents can enjoy a varied and well cooked diet. There are a really good range of social and therapeutic activities and events put on for all the residents to enjoy. Residents live in an environment really suitable for their needs. The home is decorated to a very good standard that further enhances the place for residents. The staff team are trained and competent and have a really good understanding of residents needs. Mrs Allen is providing effective leadership and management. We read some really useful information in the aqaa document about how the views of the residents are incorporated into how the home is run and we have quoted this extract:We continue to build good relations with service users and their families. We provide opportunities for airing views and opinions. We maintain and update service users holistic needs. We ensure documentation is clear, specific and accurate. Residents regularly consult with staff and offer their needs and requirements without fear of comeback from others. Residents are given choice in their daily lives about their needs. Care plan system has changed to enhance quality of care and incorporates continuous analysis of care planning. We follow all policies and procedures so the above can happen. The aqaa document explains clearly how the home ensure that race, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, age, religion and belief are promoted and incorporated into what they do.We have quoted this extract as we think it is really useful information:We adhere to relevant policies, legislations and procedures. We remain up Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 to date with changes made to these legislations, policies and procedures. Individual needs are assessed and requirements are made as appropriate. We remain nonjudgmental to all ethnic backgrounds, cultures, religions, gender, disability, sexual orientation and age. We seek advice from outside sources for information as appropriate. Individual needs are assessed and requirements are made as appropriate in line with all policies and procedures inherent within our care home. The evidence we looked at to do the annual service review tells us that the home still tell us about important things that have happened since our last key inspection. We can see that the home manage issues well. The home works well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. We think it is possible that outcomes for residents made be even better then when we did the last inspection. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan and will do a key inspection as part of our inspection programme. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
