Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included: The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us numerical and statistical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home returned their Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. This document was completed in sufficient detail stating the information that we requested. It provided a summary of the aspects of the service that have been developed and could be improved upon. We reviewed the information contained within the AQAA and it is our judgement that they continue to provide a good service for the people who use it. Surveys were returned by two service users both providing positive feedback about the home and support received. One individual commented when asked what the home could do better wrote Everything is ideal at the moment also stating that the food is good and the housework done well. Another person commented that Culby House can be considered to be one of the best homes and try their best to please people. No complaints or concerns have been received by us in connection with service over the last 12 months and we have not been notified of any Safeguarding Vulnerable Adult alerts relating to the home. In the AQAA the service has stated that no complaints, concerns or allegations have been made since the last key inspection. At the last key inspection no requirements and two recommendations were made Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 under the Care Standards Act 2000. There is evidence contained within the AQAA that these issues have or are in the process of being addressed. The home continues to let us know about things that have happened since the last inspection and they have shown that they manage issues well. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by 24th July 2010. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service.
