Annual Service Review Page 3 of 6 Service update since the last key inspection or annual service review: What did we do for this annual service review? We looked at all the information that we have received, or asked for, since the last key inspection or annual service review. This included The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Surveys returned to us by people using the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? We received the annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we had asked for it. We got some information from the AQAA, although it did not provide a lot of detail or evidence. The provider might look on our website so that they are more familiar with how an AQAA might be completed. This is particularly important as the new registration arrangements are about to come into being. However, in surveys the people who live here (or their supporters) told us that always get the care and support they need, that staff are always available when needed and that staff always listen and act on what they say. One person said that this home provides a one to one service and that staff are friendly and approachable. Another person said that the home has a very family orientated atmosphere where I am treated as part of the family. Another person said they feel safe and comfortable. When asked what the home could improve. The only comment was that one person would like to be taken out occasionally. The AQAA tells us that two bedrooms have recently been refurbished and that a bathroom has been refitted. In addition the walled garden has been replanned and replanted. We received one anonymous concern about this service which was vague and did not contain specific information. We talked with local commissioners and they told us they had no concerns about this service. We asked for feedback from people living here as part of this review, and feedback is very good. We did not feel we could investigate any further, and did not uphold the concern. The owner has since written to us explaining the circumstances of this concern. The service has not recieved any complaints or concerns directly. We are kept up to date with all events at the home through notifications. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? Annual Service Review Page 4 of 6 We will carry out an unannounced key inspection, as already planned, according to the current inspection plan. We will inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of this service or the safety of the people using this service.
