What did we do for this annual service review? The home sent us information this included The annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self-assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. Information we have about how the service has managed any complaints. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the service, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous key inspection and the results of any other visits that we have made to the service in the last 12 months. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. Have your say surveys from people who use the service, staff and supporting health professionals. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their annual quality assurance assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing a good service and that they know what further improvements they need to make. Surveys were sent out and good responses were received, five service users, three staff and two supporting professionals surveys were returned. Comments from people who use the service and their families included look after me very well lots of entertainment to keep me amused staff are very nice and always happy to chat to us staff are always around when we need them I give Holmlea and staff 100 they are very attentive and always communicate with families they talk to the residents with respect we dont think we could have picked a better home for our mam she is happy and well cared for and we are made to feel very welcome couldnt wish for better entertainment is good looks after the residents, everything they want is catered for looks after my aunt and cares and supports her makes her feel content and at home looks after her every need support family and keeps us informed and updated at all times the staff are simply fantastic as is the care given. Supporting professionals commented the home is always clean and the residents well turned out and content the staff are personable and caring. The home has informed CQC of any events that have happened since our last key inspection but there have been no cause for concern. They work well with us and have shown us that their service continues to provide good outcomes for the people who use it. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review? We are not going to change our inspection plan, and will do a key inspection by February 2012. However we can inspect the service at any time if we have concerns about the quality of the service or the safety of the people using the service. Annual Service Review Page 5 of 6 Reader Information
