What the care home does well The service undertakes a thorough pre-admission assessment process, including the development of a transition plan and a series of pre-admission visits. The resulting care plans were thorough and individual wishes, likes and dislikes were well represented. The spiritual and dietary needs and wishes of residents who are not of the Jewish faith were being appropriately addressed. Appropriate support plans had been devised where a resident required specific support for the taking of blood tests, and the process had included appropriate checks of `capacity` to consent and "best-interest" meetings. There have been no complaints or safeguarding issues raised regarding the home in the past twelve months. The environment within the home meets the needs of its residents including the provision of specialist adaptations and therapeutic equipment. Staff receive training in specialist areas where required. The current interim management cover arrangements are working well and ensure that the temporary managers receive ongoing support. Some appropriate quality monitoring tools for use with residents are being developed to support participation by residents in this process. What the care home could do better: The provider should establish a systematic process to seek feedback from residents` nextof-kin and relevant external professionals regarding the quality of the service as part of ongoing quality monitoring and review. The provider should also be meeting current legislation with regard to monthly monitoring visits, which are currently not taking place every month. Random inspection report
