What the care home does well The service performs well against all national minimum standards for older people. No areas of any significant weakness have been identified. There are strong indications that the home is well managed, with consistently good outcomes for people who use the service in all aspects of daily life. Catering arrangements plus social and recreational activity programmes are particularly noteworthy. What the care home could do better: The home`s safeguarding policy and procedure would benefit from being more explicit concerning the actions that the person in charge should take in contacting the Local Authority with any safeguarding concern. Reference is made to the local, multi-agency safeguarding procedures to be followed, but the initial actions to be taken in making a safeguarding alert should be spelled out so that the person in charge is in no doubt about what to do. It is desirable for 2 signatures to be given to witness the deposits of personal monies for service users, to protect everybody involved. Random inspection report
