What the care home does well We could see written evidence in each of the care plans we looked at of how staff were monitoring the care needs and expectations of people. The records appeared to be accurate and to reflect peoples current needs. The programmes covered all aspects of each person`s life and well being and there was recorded evidence of when staff had sought advice from other health and social care professionals. The home has a detailed complaints procedure and there was written evidence of when events had occurred and what outcome was reached in each case. People told us that they knew how to make concerns known and were happy to tell people. Safe practices appeared to be in place for the administration of medicines and people were receiving the medication they were prescribed. The Company has a comprehensive system of quality assurance which ensures that the views of people living in the home are sought to ensure it is running for their benefit. This involves questionnaires, meetings and one to one sessions. The operations plan covers twenty-six sections and details all aspects of the service. What the care home could do better: There are no requirements needed at this time. Random inspection report

After completing a risk assessment on this service CQC decided that it would not require a key inspection at this time and therefore a random inspection took place. Prior to this we looked at the details of significant events the home had told us about since the last key inspection. And spoke to health and social care professionals who told us how the staff had been interacting with them. The service also sent us their Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) which told us what they have been doing since last we visited them and their plans for the future. During the visit we spoke to the manager and briefly to a staff member. Several of the people were out but we spoke to three people at length about living at The Limes. We looked at two care plans in depth and some accident records. We also were able to track some recent Regulation 37 notices about significant events which the home had told us about. We looked at a number of other records and documents.
