What did we do for this annual service review? This quality rating for this service is 3 star. People who use this service experience excellent quality outcomes. The rating was made on 2nd February 2009 following a key inspection. We looked at all the information that we received, or asked for, since the last key inspection. This included: The Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) that was sent to us by the service. The AQAA is a self- assessment that focuses on how well outcomes are being met for people using the service. It also gave us some numerical information about the service. What the service has told us about things that have happened in the home, these are called notifications and are a legal requirement. The previous inspection. Relevant information from other organisations. What other people have told us about the service. What has this told us about the service? The home sent us their Annual Quality Assurance Assessment (AQAA) when we asked for it. It was clear and gave us all the information we asked for. We looked at the information in the AQAA and our judgement is that the home is still providing an excellent service and they know of the further improvements they need to make. We received completed surveys from six people who use the service. They were all satisfied with the care given and service provided. Four of the people said they were happy with the activities available in the home. One comment was I am well looked after, there are activities even when I cant be bothered. Another person said The food and the activities are good. My care needs are always met. A person commented Staff generally keep me going, make sure I am fed and watered. The care is good. Two people felt that the laundry service could be improved in that clothes sometimes are lost and delicate wollens are not always looked after. People commented that the staff are lovely. We also received seven completed surveys from staff who work in the home. They all felt they were kept up to date regarding the needs of people who use the service. Staff felt well supported by management. Two members of staff commented that they care for the people who live in the home well. What are we going to do as a result of this annual service review?
