Three staff members were spoken with and they confirmed there were sufficient staff available to meet the needs of people in the home. A recommendation had been made at the previous inspection to ensure staff had received National Vocational training as well as training relating to people`s care needs. The most recent inspection report produced by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) about the home is available in a file next to the reception table, in the homes entrance hall. Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 7 What we found: This inspection was undertaken to review the staffing arrangements at the home to ensure there were sufficient nursing and care staff available to meet the needs of those currently living in the home. The Commission had sent surveys to people living in the home in February 2009 as part of the homes Annual Service Review. Four out of the 10 people returning a survey felt there were insufficient staff available during the night. The Registered Manager has addressed these concerns and the findings of this inspection were that there are sufficient staff employed to meet the needs of the people currently living in the home. We also reviewed the requirement made at the previous inspection relating the the maintenance of wheelchairs to ensure they were kept in a safe working condition, the temperature of the hot water to ensure it was delivered at a safe temperature to reduce the risk of scalding, and the fitting of window opening restrictors to the windows above ground level to reduce the risk of accidents. These matters had also been addressed and resolved.
