Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 8 What we found: This was a random inspection performed to ensure compliance before the transition to the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety used under the Health and Social Care Act 2008. The site visit took place on Thursday, 17 June 2010. Prior to the inspection we sent surveys to people who live at the home. We received 5 from people living at the home, and one from a relative. The last key inspection, performed in September 2007 awarded the home an excellent rating. During this inspection there were no indications to change this rating. During the inspection we spoke to the provider, three members of staff, three people who live in the home and two visitors. We looked at care plans, three staff recruitment records, training records, medication processes, policies and procedures. We did this because we wanted to understand how well the recruitment and safeguarding systems work and what this means the people who use the service. All this information helps us to develop a picture of how the home is managed and what it is like to live at Belmont. What the care home does well: Belmont is a welcoming, calm and relaxed home.
