Care Homes for Older People Page 3 of 7 What we found: We undertook a unannounced Random Focused Inspection in the form of a site visit to the home. This was in order to establish what action the home had taken to address any issues that arose from the last inspection. We toured the building, looked at two service user files and one staff file all of which were satisfactory. One care questionnaire stated that the proprietors dogs roam the home and mess in the residents lounge. The proprietor had previously sent a questionnaire round to all residents and their families about whether the dogs were welcome in the home. The replies were a positive yes. On the day of the inspection there were four dogs in the home. We were informed there are normally only two. The home was clean and fresh and free from dog mess. The building is being maintained to a good standard. The home have addressed previous issues especially around medication processes to a satisfactory conclusion. The home are continuing to make improvements and state that they will declare full compliance with all outcomes of the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
